When I landed in Panvel from Hapa Express, i was back after nearly 2 years. The last time been while interning in Wadia Ghandy. I picturized myself walking through the famous corridors in VT. Waiting for others to meet in Fountain and to dash towards the Marina. The attacks might have left a scar, but which has now healed. Something the mumbaikars feel proud.
Everytime I admire the city for its freedom, for its diversity, for its opportunities; tension and fashion. Earlier I was a part of that community, now I am part of a community studying the vibrancy of the community. Did I forsee such a thing?
I learnt the nuances of politics through my friend Gopala, an Andhra fellow. He call himself the 'protector of the poor farmers', we call him the ' political kingpin'. say what u feel, tell what u want, promise everything, do nothing !!! That how my friend works, so does the politicians.
They are the interpreter, the interpolater and the manipulator of others destiny. I admire them for what they are. Life would have been boring without them.
I reached Mumbai for a different purpose. For a definite purpose. To understand the student political system der. If it ever had a political system, it only had MNS and Shiv Sena. I dont see KSU, SFI, ABVP (Kerala) here. How much they hit headlines there. Mumbai and Maharashtra is yet to grow or did they outgrow. I heard that after a students death in 1989, the state banned political parties in campuses sounding the death knell of student politics in Maharashtra. The present generation neither know nor have heard or felt the real politik.
I am liking Kerala. When I saw a new man been detached from his wielding part, i was bemused. Did I see him in some corner of the college, when I went for taking class on RTI. However I saw the supposedly 'unsecular' question paper from a forwarded mail. If it is true, he is mad. If its not true, others are mad. Whatever is the case, it is a mad world. I am a mad man of this mad world like any other man.
